Installing ActivePerl

Debian Package

This package installs perl in: /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6

To install:

dpkg -i ActivePerl-5.6.0.6xx-i686-linux-thread-multi.deb

RPM Package

This package installs perl in: /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6
To install in a different location, use the '--prefix' option with the rpm command.

To install:

rpm -i ActivePerl-5.6.0.6xx-i686-linux-thread-multi.rpm

ActiveState Package

Extract the files from the tag-gzipped archive into a temporary directory.  Execute the install.sh file.

tar -xzf ActivePerl-5.6.0.616-i686-linux-thread-multi.tar.gz
cd ActivePerl-5.6.0.6xx
install.sh
